Looking toward Film & TV development in 2024, CTV News Northern Ontario reports that the region is ready to roll. Experts anticipate a surge in project activity that will launch pad off the inevasible lull brought on by the recently resolved SAG-AFTRA and Writers Guild of America strikes.

By building upon the regional growth trends that put in motion over 400+ film & TV projects across the North since 2000, Northern Ontario is coined by insiders as a jurisdiction primed for a breakout year.

“We’re ready to go, crews are lined up, people are working with locations managers to give stories the great looks they need, so we should have no issues” explained Patrick O’Hearn, CION’s Associate Executive Director.

Northern Ontario’s Film & TV production industry not only creates quality content for Canadian and international audiences but also generates exciting employment opportunities for regional talent.
